Tomorrow, Saturday, February 24th 2018, the Benin Film Academy, a joint venture of Nollywood 101 project and Igbinedion University, Okada, will release its first batch of students into Nollywood.
The graduation ceremony, will see about forty, 40 students receiving certificates for meritoriously passing through the Acting, Directing, Editing, Cinematography and Scriptwriting classes.
At the event, short films, scripted, acted, directed and edited by the graduands, will be screened to the guests.
As part of their grooming, two master classes were held for the outgoing students by the leaders of the industry. While the first class was taken by veteran actor, Segun Arinze, the final master class was conducted by West Africa’s leading movie distributor and boss of Filmhouse cinema chain, Mr. Kene Mkparu.

Apart from the regular students, other industry players, will be honoured at the ceremony with certificates. The graduation ceremony is the first by the school since it opened its doors for academics six months ago.
The Benin Film Academy which is led by veteran movie director, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, is the first in the country running in affiliation with a university.
While the school is independently run, its academic curriculum is developed by the Department of Theatre Arts of the Igbinedion University, Okada. The Senate of the university, also approves the results and awards the certificates to the students.
